PHOENIX, AZ – Joseph A. Rodriguez, CRNA, was voted 2019’s “CRNA of the Year” by the Arizona Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AZANA) for contributions to the CRNA community over his career as a CRNA. Joe, in coordination with other members of AZANA and with AzAS, has been part or led teams that have led to significant advocacy achievements. While President (2016-17), Joe was able to finish a 2-year effort to grant physicians and surgeons immunity while working with CRNAs, a first-in-nation achievement that addressed a concern within the healthcare community, as well as helping to restore prescriptive authority for CRNAs. AzAS is very proud to have Joe as one of its managing partners and of his contributions to the community.
